Terms and conditions
- You participate in cycling activities in Mallorca at your own risk. It is your responsibility to observe traffic regulations! The Rompelberg Cycling Holidays Team is in no way responsible for any physical or material defects you may encounter during your (sports) activities in Mallorca, even if you are riding in a group with or without a guide from the Rompelberg Cycling Holidays Team.
- A helmet is mandatory in Mallorca. Wearing a helmet is therefore mandatory for all cycling activities organized by the Rompelberg Cycling Holidays Team.
The Rompelberg Cycling Holidays Team is not liable for services and offers from tour operators or travel agencies and their (promised) performance or quality levels.
- Nor is the Rompelberg Cycling Holidays Team liable for the performance of hotels booked through the Rompelberg Cycling Holidays Team.
- The distances indicated for guided group tours and the planned average speeds are an indication of the nature of the ride. Depending on the terrain, weather, and wishes of the group members, deviations from this may occur.
- The renter of a rented bike is responsible for all defects resulting from careless handling, falling off the bike, theft, etc. Bike insurance can be booked as an option and insures against damage caused by falls or theft from the bike cellar of the Rompelberg Cycling Holidays Team. We ask you to treat your rental bike as if it were your own.
- The Rompelberg Cycling Holidays Team accepts no responsibility for any website links referred to on the Rompelberg Cycling Holidays website. This applies to both the form and content of these links, as we have no influence on their design and ongoing changes.
Website and booking conditions
- The entire content of this website has been compiled to the best of our knowledge. The Rompelberg Cycling Holidays Team accepts no responsibility for any errors that may have crept in despite the utmost care.
- Prices are subject to technical errors and may vary from day to day, hotel, or other accommodation.
- There may also be differences in seasonal prices or promotional prices.
Booking conditions for the trip you book with us
- The package includes hotel, transfer from the airport to your hotel and back, cycling package, and bike rental if applicable. Airfare is not included.
- A deposit of 30% is required at the time of booking and upon receipt of the invoice.
Cancellation, change, and payment conditions
- Rompelberg Cycling Holidays applies the ANVR travel conditions
- In addition to these conditions, the following more flexible cancellation and change conditions apply.
Payment conditions:
- After booking, you must pay a deposit of 30% of the total travel sum. The remaining amount must be paid no later than 42 days before departure.
- Rompelberg Cycling Holidays does NOT charge any booking or reservation fees.
- However, you have the option of paying for your rental bike on site. A €10 administration fee will be charged for this.
Change conditions:
- You can change a booked trip, with the exception of flights, up to 48 hours before arrival free of charge.
- An exception to these change conditions are flights booked by Rompelberg Cycling Holidays. In this case, the change conditions of the airline in question apply (possible change fees and any difference in flight fare).
Cancellation conditions:
- You may cancel your trip and/or bike rental free of charge up to 48 hours before departure, with the exception of flights.
- For cancellations made within 48 hours prior to departure, cancellation fees amount to 50% of the total cost of the booked trip and/or bike rental.
- Once the trip and/or bike rental has begun, no refunds are possible, regardless of the reason for cancellation or non-participation. This also applies in the event of illness, accident, or other personal circumstances.
- For flights booked by Rompelberg Cycling Holidays, the cancellation and change policies of the respective airline apply. These may differ from the terms above.
Groups of 9 people or more:
- Different change and cancellation conditions apply to group reservations.
Different cancellation, change, and payment conditions for groups
Payment conditions:
- After booking, you must pay a deposit of 30% of the total travel sum. The remaining amount must be paid no later than 30 days before departure.
- Rompelberg Cycling Holidays does NOT charge any booking or reservation fees.
- However, you have the option of paying for the rental bike on site. A €10 administration fee will be charged for this.
Change conditions:
- A booked trip can be changed free of charge up to 2 months before departure. From 2 months before departure, changes are always on request and change fees may apply.
- An exception to these change conditions are flights booked by Rompelberg Cycling Holidays. In this case, the change conditions of the airline in question apply (change fees and possible differences in flight fares may apply).
Cancellation conditions:
Free reduction of group size
- Up to 2 months before departure, it is possible to cancel up to 20% of the total group size free of charge.
- Up to 15 days before departure, it is possible to cancel an additional 10% of the group size free of charge.
Cancellations exceeding these percentages are considered regular cancellations and are subject to the cancellation fees below.
Cancellation Fees
For cancellations (individual or group members exceeding the free cancellation limit), the following fees apply, calculated on the relevant portion of the total amount:
- Up to 15 days before departure: 25%
- Between 14 days and 48 hours before departure: 50%
- Within 48 hours before departure or in case of a no-show: 100%
After the start of the trip
Once the trip and/or (bike) rental has commenced, no refund is possible, regardless of the reason for cancellation or early termination. This also applies in the event of illness, accident, or other personal circumstances.
Flights
For flights booked by Rompelberg Cycling Holidays, the (group) cancellation and change conditions of the respective airline apply. These may differ from the conditions listed above.
Bicycle rental conditions
- Renter’s Duty of Care
The renter shall treat the rental bicycle with care throughout the entire rental period, as if it were his or her own bicycle. - Renter’s Liability
The renter is liable for all damage caused by:
– theft (excluding covered situations),
– intentional or willful damage,
– careless or improper use of the bicycle. - Inspection upon receipt
Upon picking up the bicycle, the renter must check:
– that the bicycle is in working order,
– that a pump and repair kit are present.
If these items are lost, replacement costs will be charged. - Proof of Identity for Stays Outside Rompelberg Hotels
For stays outside Rompelberg hotels or for individual rentals, a copy of a valid ID will be taken upon pickup of the bicycle. - Maintenance & Defects
Maintenance and repairs due to normal wear and tear are the responsibility of the rental company.
Defects, malfunctions, or irregularities must always be reported immediately to Rompelberg. - Damage insurance
The optional rental bike damage insurance covers only damage caused by:
– accidents, and
– theft exclusively from Rompelberg bike storage facilities, provided the bike is properly locked with the supplied chain. - No damage insurance purchased
If no damage insurance has been purchased, all costs for replacement parts and associated labor hours will be charged in full to the renter. - Use at your own risk
Use of the rental bicycle is entirely at your own risk. - Traffic rules in Mallorca
The renter is personally responsible for knowing and complying with the traffic rules in Mallorca. - Rompelberg Liability
Rompelberg Cycling Holidays is not liable for any physical injury or property damage sustained or caused by the renter while using the rental bike, whether individually or in a group.
Personal pedals, bike computers, and other accessories.
– Renters may have their own pedals, bike computers (Garmin, Wahoo, etc.), and other accessories installed or removed by Rompelberg mechanics.
– This installation/removal is done upon request and under the renter’s full responsibility.
– Rompelberg Cycling Holidays is not liable for:
• damage to the renter’s own parts (pedals, mounts, computers, sensors, saddles, etc.),
• damage to the rental bike caused by the renter’s incorrect, worn-out, or incompatible parts,
• thread damage to cranks or other mounting points when this results from prior wear and tear or incorrect installation by third parties.
– The renter must report in advance if their own equipment is damaged, worn out, or non-standard.
– If damage to the rental bike results from the installation of the renter’s own parts, the repair and replacement costs will be charged in full to the renter. - Guided group rides and minimum number of participants
Rompelberg Cycling Holidays reserves the right to cancel a guided group ride if the minimum number of four participants is not reached. If Rompelberg decides to cancel the group ride, the ticket price already paid will be refunded in full.
Participants cannot derive any rights from this provision. There is no guarantee that a group ride will take place if there are fewer than four participants. - Photography for marketing purposes
During guided rides and other activities, photos are taken that may be used by Rompelberg Cycling Holidays for marketing purposes.
According to the terms and conditions, the renter agrees to this. Any objections will, of course, be taken into account.
Applicable law and choice of forum
- The legal relationship between the parties is governed by Dutch law.
- Disputes will be settled exclusively by the competent court in Maastricht, Limburg, the Netherlands.
Calamity Fund
Rompelberg Cycling Holidays B.V. Chamber of Commerce: 68439865 is affiliated with the Travel Calamity Fund Foundation. The guarantee of the Calamiteitenfonds means that you, as a traveler participating in a trip to which the guarantee applies: – will receive (part of) your travel sum back if we are unable to carry out the trip in whole or in part as a result of a calamity; – will be reimbursed for the necessary additional costs if we have to modify the trip as a result of a calamity or if we have to repatriate you early. A calamity is defined as an abnormal event caused by acts of war or natural disasters.
SGR
Stichting Garantiefonds Reisgelden (SGR) Rompelberg Cycling Holidays B.V. Chamber of Commerce: 68439865 is affiliated with SGR. You can check this via www.sgr.nl. Within the limits of the SGR guarantee scheme, the trips published on this website are covered by the SGR guarantee. This SGR guarantee means that the consumer is assured that their prepaid travel money will be refunded if the other party is unable to fulfill the agreed service due to financial insolvency. Insofar as the agreement also includes transport and the destination has already been reached, the return journey will be taker.nl/garantieregeling.n care of.
