Hiking in Mallorca, for cyclists who want to discover more

Sissy van Alebeek11 July 2025December 23rd, 20253 min read

New altimeters, but with hiking boots on.

You probably know Mallorca mainly for its asphalt, climbs, descents, and exceptionally beautiful rides. But who says adventure ends when you get off your bike? Mallorca is bursting with spectacular hiking trails that are rugged, quiet, and surprisingly challenging. Ideal for an active day of rest or as an extra experience alongside your cycling vacation.

Why hike when you can cycle?

  • A different perspective: You see the island in a completely different way.
  • Active recovery: Walking keeps you moving without the strain of cycling.
  • New routes, new terrain: Places you would never reach on a road bike.
  • Adventure guaranteed: Technical terrain, rocky paths, hidden bays.

Our favorite hikes for adventurers

1. Tossals Verds: Serra de Tramuntana at its purest

A challenging mountain hike along rugged rock formations, abandoned mountain huts, and views you won’t soon forget. Swap your cycling shoes for sturdy hiking boots and experience Mallorca at its raw and pure best.

3-4 hours | +700 m elevation gain | technical, but well marked

2. The Cúber Trail to Coll de l’Ofre

Start at the famous Cúber reservoir and climb through pine forests to one of the most beautiful viewpoints on the island. Perfect if you want a day without cycling, but not without some elevation gain.

Finish with a view of Sóller and the sea.

3. The path to Cala Tuent

Not the easiest, but one of the most beautiful. A varied route that ends at a secluded beach. Think hairpin bends, silence, and a dip in the blue sea as a reward.

On the way back, a tough climb awaits, so you’ll need strong legs!

Hiking with Rompelberg

We regularly organize guided hikes, ideal if you are traveling solo or just like meeting new people. We provide transportation, explanations, and a nice lunch spot along the way.
Ask in our shops for the weekly program.

Combine with yoga

Some cyclists opt for a hike on their rest day. Others combine it with a morning ride and finish with a leisurely walk at sunset. Add a yoga session for the perfect recovery mix.

Cycling may remain your first love, but hiking allows you to experience Mallorca with different muscles and different eyes. The island has so much more to offer. Ready to step off the beaten track?
