Breathtaking ride to the tip of Cap Formentor
A stunning ride along a winding coastal road to the lighthouse
Create your own route
The route to Cap de Formentor can easily be adapted to your level and preferences. You can start in Port de Pollença for a compact, intensive ride, or choose to depart from Alcúdia, Sa Pobla, or even Playa de Palma for a longer ride through varied landscapes. This allows you to decide how long, challenging, or relaxed your cycling day will be.
Tip: Start early to avoid traffic and catch the sunrise over the Mediterranean, truely unforgettable.
Starting point Port de Pollença
You start the route in Port de Pollença, a popular coastal town with cozy cafés, perfect for catching your breath before or after your ride. From here, the route climbs straight up via a well-paved road, with views of the bay and the Tramuntana mountains.
The first climb, testing your legs
The first climb takes you to Mirador Es Colomer, a panoramic viewpoint where you simply have to stop. This is followed by a challenging descent towards the Colomer tunnel, followed by a series of short, steep climbs. The road winds its way along rugged cliffs, pine forests, and deep precipices.
Breathtaking views as a reward
The last few kilometers to the lighthouse are car-free and magical. On clear days, you can see all the way to Menorca. A quick stop at Far de Formentor, the iconic lighthouse, is a must. Bring water, as facilities are limited.
